2024 Investiture to Feature Purdue President and OpenAI CTO

Dartmouth Engineering Creates International Degree Program with Peru's UTEC
For the first time, Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering has partnered outside the US to establish a new 4+1 program allowing engineering students at Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC) in Lima, Peru to earn both an undergraduate and master's degree in five years.

Jill Ladegard '04 Th'05 currently works in the mining industry as a program director for Stantec, an engineering consulting firm. At Dartmouth, she gravitated toward engineering because she enjoyed solving problems. As the incoming president of the Dartmouth Society of Engineers (DSE), she hopes to strengthen connections between Thayer students and alumni.

Jill Ladegard '04 Th'05 currently works in the mining industry as a program director for Stantec, an engineering consulting firm. At Dartmouth, she gravitated toward engineering because she enjoyed solving problems. Throughout her career, she's worked around the world, applying her engineering education to different fields, from environmental engineering to transportation, crediting her liberal arts education with her ability to shift between industries. As the incoming president of the Dartmouth Society of Engineers (DSE), she hopes to strengthen connections between Thayer students and alumni

Samantha Modder '17 Th'18 is a graphic design professor at the University of Tampa and a multimedia artist and designer. This year, she participated in her first faculty art show with a piece printed of digitally manipulated ballpoint pen entitled, "Her Hair Like the Sun and Clouds." But Modder doesn't restrict herself to one medium. Currently, she's dabbling in designing clothes from her own prints, having taken an introduction to fashion design course where she learned to sew.

Kirsten and Mike Doogue began their careers together at Allegro MicroSystems, a Manchester-based semiconductor company, where Mike is currently senior vice president and chief technology officer. Kirsten went on to become an established embroidery artist who specializes in hand embroidery techniques. Today, they live in Bedford, NH, with their three children.

Leadership & Councils

The Dean’s Council is an advisory group of recent engineering alumni who provide input and council to the Dean, senior leadership, and students. Councilors meet once a year on campus and serve as alumni ambassadors for the School.

Did you know that engineering alumni have two representatives that serve on the Alumni Council? Councilors share Dartmouth news and initiatives, inspire volunteerism and engagement with the College, and act on behalf of their constituents.

Dartmouth Society of Engineers

The Dartmouth Society of Engineers (DSE) is composed of students, alumni, and friends of Thayer School. The DSE supports academic, professional, and social activities at the School and has two chapters: the Parent Chapter ( alumni and friends) and the Student Chapter (current engineering students at Dartmouth).
